Information Centricity CoMotion allows users to directly manipulate information and not be constrained or distracted by software elements that separate users from data. We use the term information centricity to describe software that makes no conceptual distinction between data and the interface. Data and visualizations in CoMotion become the "nouns" of the interface. A consistent set of interactions, mostly drag-and-drop movements, become the "verbs." In an information centric environment, knowledge workers can quickly understand this new vocabulary and can compose exactly what they need.
Information becomes like liquid currency, flowing smoothly among visualizations, letting visual analysis and direct manipulation replace queries, extractions, and reports. CoMotion visualizations are merely user-defined designs or blueprints that control how data is seen. The CoMotion workspace organizes your visualizations and allows you to see others' shared visualizations.
As data is added or altered, visualizations change everywhere, automatically. All annotations, comments, and discussions can be embedded directly in visualizations. |
